Why Polytechnic Colleges Placement Decreases Every Year :-
A number of variables can significantly affect the caliber of placements in polytechnic institutions:
Institute reputation: Placement records are frequently better at well-established polytechnic institutions with solid industry ties. It can be instructive to look at the employer feedback and placement statistics of the particular institute.
Location: Because they are closer to businesses and industries, institutes in urban or industrial locations typically offer greater placement chances.
Specialization & Courses Offered: There may be greater demand for certain technical fields in the labor market, which could result in better placements. Demand is frequently higher in fields like mechanical engineering, electronics, and computer technology.
Industry Relationships: Students may have greater placement possibilities at institutions that actively interact with industry and have partnerships or internship programs.
Student Skill Development: Employability may be improved by institutions that prioritize skill development, soft skills instruction, and real-world experience.
Alumni Network: Through networking opportunities and referrals, a robust alumni network can help current students land placements.
How can Colleges Improves their placements:-
Colleges are not in charge of placing students in jobs; in fact, they frequently grant degrees that are essentially worthless.
To ensure that their chosen professional path is a good fit for them, a prudent student would begin an apprenticeship by their junior year. Before making the grave error of squandering time and money on a degree that is not appropriate for the individual student, this will allow the student to continue with their advanced coursework or transfer to another apprenticeship program that may fit into a totally different degree plan.
Better CV:-
Your resume serves as the recruiter’s initial impression of you. Even while this is more important for university partners than recruiters, what if you were to lose a fantastic applicant because their resume was weak and everything else was flawless? Therefore, you must assist them in creating a better CV or at the very least, emphasize in your job description the value of a strong CV. What’s nice about today, then? On-campus recruitment coordinators at colleges typically handle CV editing for students.
Provide Language Training, If Require:-
One cannot teach without a language, and as English is widely used in Indian workplaces, pupils must be trained in it. This cannot be done at the last minute. Drives that encourage students to study English must be held on campus so that they may at least show recruiters how capable they are. Additionally, everyone on campus has to get continual English language instruction in order to become proficient in the language and be prepared for placements when they occur.
Require Industrial Training:-
Since this is primarily for IT, give training that is focused on the workplace. And this is the way to accomplish it. One year before the placements, talk to firms about their needs so you can record the abilities they are looking for and teach students in them. You can train pupils in this by grouping them into camps according to their interests. Give someone extra training in cybersecurity if they have a greater interest in it than DevOps. The training might take place before or after college, depending on the schedule.
Mock Test or Interviews:-
Training is crucial, but in order to make sure the students are prepared for any difficulties they might encounter during their campus placement, you can also administer examinations and interviews throughout the training. In addition to covering IT skills, these practice exams and interviews will assess behavioral responses and overall work attitude. Students must be taught the value of labor and effective organization techniques if they are to achieve.
Alumni Network is also Better Option:-
When you need assistance, the alumni network is there, especially at the top 100 or so universities. They are involved and will react to any concerns or requests for assistance from the campus placement committee. However, recruiters, university partners, and the campus placement team should be more proactive in their approach to the alumni network, reaching out to them not just when students have failed at campus placement but also to recommend them to appropriate firms. To help them make the correct recommendations and connect the students with the proper individuals, reputable alumni members might be brought to campus to engage with students in person.
Best of Luck for future endeavors….
