Phases, outcomes, regulations, and all the information Class 10 students need to know about the CBSE double board exams beginning in 2026 !
Big Changes for CBSE Students in Class 10 will be permitted to sit for the CBSE board exams twice in a single academic year starting in 2026. They must, however, participate in the initial phase, which takes place in February.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, that Class 10 students will have the opportunity to take the board exams twice starting in the academic year 2026–2027.

Big Changes in CBSE:-
The CBSE’s decision is consistent with the National Education Policy 2020 recommendation that all students be permitted to take the Board Exams up to twice in a single school year—once for the main exam and once for improvement, if desired—in an effort to further diminish the “high stakes” component of the exam.
According to Mr. Singh, the chairman of the CBSE, “all students who pass the first board examination and are eligible will be allowed to improve their performance in any of the three subjects out of Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and two language papers, even though it is mandatory for students to appear in the first board examination, which will be held in mid-February.” The second test is entirely optional and supplementary.

Students will get a chance to improve their marks:-
Students can raise their scores in any three of the following subjects: Math, Social sciences, and Science.
Additionally, the results of each exam will be announced separately.
The result of the February exam will be declared in April and the result of the May exam will be declared in June.
The advantage of this exam rule, that students will be able to improve their marks in the same academic session, which will not lead to a waste of time. The board has also clarified that the evaluation will be done only once in the whole year. This decision has been taken to simplify the evaluation system and avoid confusion.
